아베 정권 집권 이후, 일본 내 일부 극우 단체의 교과서뿐만 아니라 전 학년·전 과목에 걸친 국정 및 검인정 교과서 전반을 대상으로 우경화 작업이 치밀하게 진행되고 있음을 전 세계에 알리고 규탄하기 위해 기획되었습니다.

특히 이 작품은 가상의 연출이 아닌, 현재 일본 교육 현장에서 사용되는 실제 개정판 일본 역사 교과서를 현지에서 직접 공수하여 정교한 수작업(Handcrafted)으로 칼을 깎아내고 가공해 제작되었습니다. 책의 책장을 넘길 때마다 입체적으로 드러나는 날카로운 무기와 전쟁의 형상들은 "교과서가 곧 무기가 될 수 있다"는 시각적 충격을 던져줍니다. 본 북아트 작품들은 국내외 주요 거리 곳곳에 팝업 전시 형태로 배치되어 전 세계 시민들에게 역사 왜곡의 심각성과 평화의 소중함을 생생하게 전달할 예정입니다.

This book art project delivers a sharp, gripping warning that distorted history education can sow the dangerous seeds of future warfare.

The campaign was designed to expose and condemn the systemic right-wing revisionism taking place across Japan's entire textbook system—not just within a few isolated publications—following the continuous push for nationalistic education since the Abe administration.

Rather than using replicas, this piece was meticulously handcrafted using actual, revised Japanese history textbooks sourced directly from Japan. By precisely carving the literal pages of these textbooks into three-dimensional weapons of war, the art piece presents a striking visual metaphor: "A distorted textbook is a weapon in disguise." These raw, evocative book art installations are scheduled to be exhibited across major streets both domestically and globally.
